DECLARE FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The following answers explain what DECLARE is, why we focus on process coverage, and how our editorial standards work. Reach out if you’d like us to cover anything else.
So, what do you guys do?
DECLARE is a digital news platform that covers the process of American politics and government, with a primary focus on election policy and administration during our first year (which launched in November 2025). We publish original features, issue explainers and primers, spot news, and commentary. Over time, we intend to expand into video and data visualization to become a true multimedia and multichannel platform. While our geography spans coast to coast, we spend more time on the state and local arenas where elections are actually run than on the “national” storylines in Washington, D.C. See our About Us page for more.
Isn’t this . . . kind of niche?
Are you an independent publication?
We have a constitutionally conservative tendency and a strong demand for facts. For example, in our first-year elections coverage we support integrity in the process just as we hold ourselves to a high standard of integrity. We publish opinion content from officials and key figures who are relevant to our areas of coverage, but we do not endorse candidates. See our About Us page for more detail.
DECLARE is a product of the 501(c)(3) RightCount, Inc., which you can read more about here. When we quote or feature commentary from official representatives of RightCount, we disclose the affiliation either upon first mention or at the bottom of the piece.
